Each year Hope 4 Homeless hold a Christmas meal for all the people they support across Bolton, however, this year they have been let down at the last minute. A surprise hero came forward in the form of their youngest member, Billy Higham aged 10. He asked his mum to put on social media if anyone was aware of a room where they could hold the event.
Billy’s mum Angela said: “We’ve been overwhelmed with ideas and the number of people who came forward to offer their help. Especially, Warren Fox who has kindly arranged for the venue to be at All Souls on Astley street Bolton. In addition he has secured sponsorship and donations of food and drinks from local IT reseller IDNS Ltd and McDonalds, Astley Bridge.”
Hope 4 Homeless Uk are based at 131 Tonge Moor Road Bolton, was opened in July 2014 and is used as a care of address to help the homeless to make claims, look for job and houses in addition to just come in to get out of the rain and feel safe. Hope 4 Homeless ask for donations to sell and make money to help people get on the system and right path towards re homing. They also give them warm clothes and they have a kitchen at the back of the shop to make them drinks etc and they now have a shower room.
Hope 4 Homeless have expressed a huge thank you to Warren Fox, and all the people who have offered their services but mostly to Billy whom without his quick thinking non of this would have happened. In addition, Billy has also designed a poster for Reverse Advent Calendars where people put into a box rather than taking out. This is items such as tinned food, nuts, drinks, hat glove etc and he hopes to hand these donations out to the homeless at the Christmas Party.
The event is taking place at All Souls Church Astley Street 22 December 2016 at 5.00pm, anyone wishing to make a donation can get in touch.
