Residents are up in arms after the trees at Moss Lea woods next to Astley Bridge Cricket Club were cut down and cleared recently.
A controversial outline planning decision was pushed through last year despite huge resident objections, which will see 21 houses built on the paddock and wooded area of Moss Lea.
Many worried residents fear that the development has already started with the clearly of the tress without receiving full planning permission, and as the land is now open and unsecured it could be open to trespassers.
Warren Fox said; “Residents are already angry about this development, the fact the trees have been cut down so soon is like rubbing salt in the wounds. Residents want to know what is going on in their area.”
